- Band 3 salary range of $69,022.11 and $73,587.09 per annum (Pro Rata salary of between $27,608.84 and $29,434.84) plus 12% super and annual leave loading
- Permanent part time Position (0.4 EFT)
- Located at 290 Yan Yean Rd, Plenty, VIC 3090

As a Waste and Transfer Station Officer, you will support the Waste Operations team by undertaking a range of operational duties under general supervision. The role provides hands-on assistance to the in-house street litter crew, including waste truck driving and runner duties, while also supporting the Recycling Centre team with the day-to-day operation of the facility.
A typical day might include:
- Assist with the delivery of in-house waste collection services in accordance with operational and safety procedures
- Support Council's Recycling Centre to deliver an efficient and effective service according to operational and safety procedures
- Provide high-quality customer service and accurate information to members of the public with a friendly disposition
- Maximise the diversion of waste to appropriate recycling streams, including supporting approved initiatives and undertaking active recovery of recyclable materials.
- Assist with minor maintenance tasks within the Operations Centre, particularly litter collection
- Operate heavy plant machinery and forklift in accordance with operational and safety procedures
What you will bring to the role:
- Valid Victorian Drivers Licence and medium or high rigid truck licence with minimum 1 years' experience in an operational environment
- Demonstrated operational experience in safely operating a rear loader waste collection truck
- Working knowledge of computer systems, including email, word processing, spreadsheets and the use of mobile phones and devices with the willingness to develop skills as required.
