Economic Development and Tourism Project Officer

Greensborough, Australia

  • Temporary full-time position - parental leave cover commencing June 2026 until May 2027
  • Band 5 salary range of between $80,689.15 and $91,882.63 per annum plus 12% super and annual leave loading.
  • Located at 32 Civic Drive, Greensborough VIC 3088
  • Access to monthly or fortnightly RDOs
  • Flexible working arrangements available - balance life and work

About the role:

We are seeking an organised and proactive professional who enjoys bringing projects to life! In this temporary parental leave cover position of Economic Development and Tourism Project Officer, you will play a key role in supporting initiatives that strengthen our local business community and enhance our region's visitor economy. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to meaningful programs, coordinate engaging business events, and work across a dynamic team committed to innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

A typical day might include:

  • Be a first point of contact for economic development related enquiries
  • Organise, coordinate and promote business workshops and events
  • Undertake business engagement activities
  • Analyse statistical data, using systems and databases to support reporting and informed decision‑making
  • Prepare promotional and administrative material, e-newsletters, posters, and brochures to support programs and projects.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Qualifications in economic development, business, marketing, tourism or similar demonstrated experience in a similar role
  • Self-motivation and initiative, with a demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively as part of a team
  • Understanding of the economic development environment within a local government context
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Highly developed organisational / time management skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of effective customer service principles and practices.
