Asset Technical Officer (Internal Applicants Only)

  • Band 5 salary range of between $80,689.15 and $91,882.63 per annum plus 12% super and annual leave loading.
  • Temporary full-time Parental Leave position

About the role:

As the Asset Technical Officer, you will be responsible for the continuous improvement of Council's asset system (Assetic) and to support the review and implementation of policies, strategies, plans and practices for the strategic management of Council's infrastructure assets.

A typical day might include:

  • Support the ongoing enhancement, operation and user training of Council's asset management system (Assetic).
  • Collect, maintain and verify accurate asset and geographic data across roads, drainage, bridges, reserves and facilities.
  • Assist in preparing timely reports for asset valuations, grant funding and state performance requirements.
  • Coordinate and contribute to the planning, delivery and monitoring of asset management projects and handover processes.
  • Provide professional advice, prepare reports and respond to enquiries relating to asset management practices and requirements.

What you will bring to the role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or nearing completion of a tertiary civil engineering course; or relevant industry experience
  • Proficiency in asset management systems
  • Analytical and investigation skills, with the ability to interpret data and prepare recommendations
  • Technical knowledge of civil engineering practices, specifications and the ability to interpret engineering drawings
