Join our Youth team and help us create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for young people. As Youth Hub Engagement Officer you will be responsible for the effective management and operation of the Nillumbik Youth Hub. This role involves coordinating services and programs, and developing systems, processes, and procedures to support the ongoing and efficient running of the facility.
A key focus of this position is building strong partnerships to ensure the Youth Hub is well-utilised, safe, responsive, and accessible to the needs of young people aged 12-25 years. You will also act as the main point of contact for information and referral pathways for young people and their families, working collaboratively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
What a typical day will look like;
- Coordinate and oversee day to day operations of the Nillumbik Youth Hub
- Provide appropriate information to young people, families and community regarding services, programs and activities for young people
- Design, deliver and evaluate programs for young people, aged 12 - 25 years, to be delivered at the Youth Hub
- Oversee regular drop-in programs for young people aged 12 - 25 years
- Deliver outreach programs and initiatives that promote the Nillumbik Youth Hub and strengthen relationships with local young people.
What you will bring to the role;
- Tertiary qualification in Youth Work, social work or similar field with some relevant experience or a lesser formal qualification with substantial experience in a similar position working with young people.
- Skilled at facility management and administration
- Working with Children Check
- Strong oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Highly developed emotional intelligence
