Coordinator Community Support Services (INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY)

Permanent Full Time Band 7 - $108,940 to $121,662 total remuneration per annum includes 10% super, annual leave loading and monthly RDO

About the role

This position Coordinates the Community Support Services Unit within the Community Programs Department. This unit is responsible for:

  • Regional Assessment Service
  • Social Connection programs
  • Positive Ageing Strategy
  • Aged Care Navigation and Advocacy programs
  • Commonwealth Home Support Program including Community Transport and Social Support Group

The Community Support Services unit strives to strengthen, benefit and resource older people, their carers and families to age well in Nillumbik.

Key duties:

  • Coordinate the planning and delivery of the programs within Council's Community Support Services Unit
  • Participate with other staff in the Communities directorate to provide effective leadership and an integrated approach to policy, planning and program development in accordance with Council policy and key objectives
  • Undertake a key role in liaising with government and community bodies to achieve effective development, delivery and coordination of Community Support Services programs
  • Provide a high level of leadership, management and support to the Community Support Services team through supervision, training and performance management
  • Manage, monitor and report on program budgets and funding agreements

Skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified/experience in Aged Care/Community Services/Social work/Health related qualification preferred
  • Experience in project management and program development; conception to implementation
  • Demonstrated team player
  • Customer focused with proven initiative in quality improvement
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience Leading Hybrid Teams
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and supporting the health and wellbeing of self and others
  • Ability to manage, plan and organise own work to deliver within agreed timelines
  • The ability to lead, develop and manage staff in order to have a committed team empowered to deliver exceptional business outcomes
  • Ability to develop and manage stakeholder relationships
  • Highly developed oral and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to discuss and resolve problems
