This position sits within the Roads, drains and cleansing team, at the Operations Centre within the Operations Directorate, which is responsible for the delivery of services to the community and ensuring adequate maintenance of the existing road and drainage infrastructure.
What a typical day will look like;
This position is responsible for providing a high level of skill in the operation of drain cleaning equipment. The position will have a commitment to continual improvement in the area of road infrastructure maintenance. Key deliverables include:-
- Deliver high quality services in all maintenance activities performed
- Specialist skill to operate the vac truck
- Ability to make complex operational decisions
- Competent in the use of tablets and IT systems
- Customer service skills
- Leadership skills, with the ability to train and mentor others
- Ability to work independently without supervision.
What you will bring to the role;
- Current Victorian driver licence with heavy rigid endorsement
- Proven experience in driving heavy rigid vehicles, with demonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency in the safe operation, maintenance, and use of a vac-hydro combination unit, easement reel, and other relevant vehicles, plant, and hand-held or motorized equipment relevant to this role.
